Tasting Notes
87/100 - Robert Parker
Loads of fruit, low acidity and a big, black currant and cedar nose jump from the glass of this medium-bodied, attractive and luscious style of wine to drink over the next 5-6 years. It is a blend of 70% Cabernet Sauvignon and 30% Merlot.
15.75 points - Decanter
Quite smoky, cassis and spice on the nose. Sweet entry with good clarity, natural sweetness and depth disciplined by strict tannin. Will show charm early on. Drink 2014. Alc: 14.5%

The history of the Château
Although wines have been made at Bournac since the beginning of 20th century, vines were not the property’s main crop, until Pierre SECRET took charge in 1975. In 1982 Hubert and Didier Secret the eldest sons, decided to create a new vineyard and devote themselves entirely to making the best possible wine. They invested heavily in vines, vat room, with sole aim to produce a high quality wine: Château La Chandellière. After Pierre SECRET, his youngest son Bruno took over the estate from 1990 until 2007 vintage. At which point, his brothers Hubert and Didier Secret came on board. Pierre Secret’s grandsons Guillaume and Thibaud joined them to continue to produce “Château Bournac”. All four share the various tasks: Didier and Guillaume look after vineyards; Hubert makes the wine at Château La Chandellière and Thibaud at Château Bournac. But all decisions are made by common agreement. Three generations of Secret family have dedicated themselves to these MEDOC crus bourgeois.
