Histoire du château
The Château was built in the early XVIIth century. Robert Dillon, an Irish refugee bought it in 1754. The property, then named Terrefort, was confiscated during the French Revolution… François Seignouret, a rich furniture entrepreneur from Bordeaux, bought the estate in 1829 and developed it into a genuine wine farm. He had the idea to sell the wine in the Unined-States under the name Château Dillon…Viscountess Arlot de Saint-Saud, the last private owner, sold the property to the Ministry of Agriculture in 1956. Since then, the property has been run and managed by the Lycée Agro-Viticole.
