Ripe and fleshy, showing linzer torte and cassis notes, with lots of dark toasted spice. The embedded strucure has a pebbly feel, allowing the fruit to take on a more smoldering feel through the lengthy finish. Drink now through 2020, 500 cases made. - JM

The history of the Château
"Château DUTHIL is located in the commune of Le Pian Médoc in the heart of the HAUT MEDOC appellation. There are currently 5ha under vine. The vineyards are planted on the banks of Artigue stream, which makes for ideal natural drainage. There are two different parts to the Château DUTHIL vineyards: - The largest consists of vines of 20 years old. This part of the vineyard is located in clay-sandy soil mixed with gravel from the Quaternary period. - The rest of the vineyard is made up of young vines. DUTHIL’s soil is altogether representative of the finest estates in the HAUT MEDOC. When the wine from such soil is made just like a great growth, the results are surprisingly fine. Château DUTHIL is a typical Médoc wine. It needs to age in bottle for several years before reaching its peak. "
