Tasting Notes
3 étoiles - Decanter
Good cassis, minerals, earth, black fruit, herbs and cloves on the noze. Silky textured with a lively tannic structure and great balance. Good quality
87/100 - Quentin Sadler’s Wine Page
Loads of fruit, fresh damson nose with some cedar notes. Juicy and supple with lovely fruit firmed up by some discrete tannins and freshness. Very good and enjoyable if simple. Rich medium body. Another wine that celebrates fruit more than structure I think, so possibly an early drinker, but it will give a lot of pleasure – how nice to see some Carménère too

My first wine memory
A tasting in my grand father's dinnig room of twenty samples of Médoc red wines.

One word to describe my wine
Well balanced

The history of the Château
At the beginning of the 20th century my grandfather bought the estate. Between the two world wars, the production was mostly that of breeding and raising horses for the army, milk, cereals and wine.In 1990 Florence and Charles Fernandez de Castro took over the production and enlarged the estate by 9 ha. Since 2005, our association with the Cordonnier family has enabled us to bring a new vigor to the estate, enabling us to add a further 6 ha. Today, with 21 ha of vines and 6 grape varieties, Chateau Saint-Aubin produces a balanced wine.

Food pairings for my wine
Delicatessen, red meat, dish in sauce, cheese
